stone with a very out of place hue situated directly under such a drain led me to wonder just what might be seeping out of this opening...

NOTE: Just because you found this image used in some online tutorial, that does not mean you are free to use it!
This photo is not stock and they did not ask permission to include it in their tutorial.
But y'know, if you really do want to use it then try asking me ;)

The tutorial was called "Manipulate a face with amazing effect" and was posted on the above site 2 days ago. I have seen another artist on DA who was also angry for the same reasons as you.

But my picture has nothing to do with faces and is not in that tutorial
I did look around some of the other recent tutorials but could not find it :?

I'm just really curious about how the image was used and what was said about it.

By ignoring such criticism how can you ever expect to learn anything?

Here is the link to the actual tutorial not the site promoting it.

Ah thanks so much for taking time to find that again for me.

Lol, I thought it was gonna be some article saying 'This is how not to take a photo' :XD:

"..... and is not in that tutorial"
I DO NOT lie, it most certainly IS in that tutorial. The actual drain outlet is cut from the picture and (using waterfall brushes) is made to appear dirty water has come from it.
I am very sorry you have been unable to locate the offending tutorial - if I should come across the (innocent!)readers version of it I saw on DA I will send you the details.

I apologise - I will NOT be using your work. As it was featured in a current photoshop tutorial I assumed - obviously wrongly - that it was available for use.
I do not think that snapping at anyone is at all helpful though.

'Snapping'? Rofl, trust me that wasn't me snapping ;)

Sorry but other people have done the same thing before and I find it really annoying. At least it seems understandable for confusion to have arisen in this case. BTW you have me curious now - do you have a link to the tutorial it was in?

Thanks wat?

The deal is supposed to be that you don't presume you can use images here unless they are in somebody's stock account and clearly marked as public domain.

I'm not so protectivce of my own submissions that I'd complain if one were used without authorisation, but still it's bad etiquette to do so.
